Seventh Grade English |
English 7 is designed to provide an orientation period for the middle school student. Certain communicative concepts and skills are reviewed, introduced, and developed so that a smooth transition can be made when the student reaches the secondary level. Emphasis is placed upon the development of effective written and oral expression. To this end, both expository and creative activities will be experienced. These concepts and skills are integrated with the development of comprehension and appreciation of literature. |

Eighth Grade English |
English 8 involves the study of English grammar, composition, literature, and spelling. The study of grammar includes correct usage, the mechanics of writing and good sentence structure. Compositions may include paragraphs, letters and longer written pieces. Literature is approached both through themes expressed in various formats and through the study of several forms of written expression. The study of spelling includes review of words learned earlier and words likely to be encountered by the high school students.
