Kohler Exceptional Education Program Overview
All students with disabilities shall be provided a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) as defined by state and federal statutes. Exceptional Education and related services shall be provided to all children ages 3 through the school term in which they turn 21.
A child with a disability is one who has a cognitive, physical, emotional, or learning disability, which, if the full potential of the child is to be attained, requires exceptional education services to supplement or replace regular education.
Exceptional Education and related services shall be provided to children with the following impairments:
- Orthopedic
- Cognitive disability
- Hearing
- Visual
- Speech and Language
- Emotional/behavioral
- Learning
- Significant developmental delay
- Autism
- Other health impaired
- Traumatic brain injury
- Any combination of the above
The following supportive and related services shall be provided as needed to assist an individual child to benefit from Exceptional Education.

- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Counseling and Guidance
- Parent Counseling and Training
- Adapted Physical Education
- Audiological Services
- Transportation
- Assistive Technology
- Orientation and Mobility
- Medical/Nursing Services
- Speech/Language Services
