1. Chess Club will meet on Friday, February 3, from 3:30-3:45.
2. Friday, February 3 is the last day for our “Souper Bowl Fundraiser.
3. Our Pennies for Patients drive begins on Monday, Feb. 6. Students are asked to bring pennies to school for a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Wisconsin. Pennies should be taken to your child’s classroom. Pennies add to the classroom total, while other coins subtract from the total in a class’s box (students should put other coins in their competitor’s boxes). Dollars should be given to classroom teachers. Students will receive a paper penny for each dollar they contribute.
4. Mrs. Multer, School Counselor is organizing a book discussion group(s) for fourth and fifth graders during February and March. The students are invited to read and then meet weekly to discuss The Reinvention of Edison Thomas by Madison author Jacqueline Houtman and Rules by Cynthia Lord. Book discussions will take place in small groups once a week during lunch & lunch recess.
Students will be required to have a copies of the books The Reinvention of Edison Thomas by Madison author Jacqueline Houtman ISBN 978-1-59078-708-3 and Rules by Cynthia Lord ISBN 978-0-439-44383-8 – Mrs. Arentsen will have a limited number of copies available via the library.
Students must sign up in the district (front) office to participate by Monday, February 6, 2012.
