Drop Off Procedures
Dear Parents,
As we begin a new school year we are taking steps to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment. This includes implementing new procedures for morning student drop off at the main entrance.
Morning student drop off at the main entrance will be a “drop off and go” process. What this means is that parents who drive students to school will pull into one of the single-file drop off lanes, pull up to or under the building canopy and stop to allow their child to exit the car. Students walk themselves to the front door of the building. Staff will be on hand to guide traffic and to make sure students cross under the canopy safely.
This procedure is designed to improve student safety and to improve efficiency in the drop off process. Parents, please do not stop in the single file lanes and walk students into the building. Staff will be on hand to welcome and assist students. If you want to escort your child, please park in the lot. Do not use reserved library parking for this purpose.
The single file drop off lanes will be marked with traffic cones and signage. Staff in charge of this procedure will wear bright orange vests. Please follow the directions of our staff. We are here to assist you.
We appreciate your cooperation with this new procedure and have confidence that this will make our morning start more productive for everyone.

Morning Drop off Procedures
2010-2011
Main Entrance
- Enter the parking lot using the west entrance as usual
- Form a single file line next to the building sidewalk
- Form two single file lines when you reach the traffic cones
- Follow the guidance of staff
- Students exit the vehicle either under the canopy or in front of the canopy
- Please have your student prepare to exit quickly when your car stops
- If you are under the canopy, pull in front of the cross walk and stop
- Students exit on the curb side of the vehicle
- Parents do not exit the vehicle to escort students (please park your car if you would like to walk your child into the building)
- If your child exits the vehicle along the curb before the canopy, please remain in the traffic flow and exit when you reach the canopy
- Use caution when exiting the canopy area as children may be in the cross walk
- Thank you for your cooperation and your assistance in keeping all of our children safe when they come to school
